No boring history lessons, just the essentials you need to feel the vibe of Sarajevo. You’ll get the lowdown on the people, the culture, the best local eats, and a few insider tips to make your stay unforgettable.

Once we check you into the hotel and sort out the game plan for tomorrow, the rest of the evening is yours. Explore, chill or hit the town, whatever suits your style.

Sarajevo is yours for the night.

Day 2 - Beyond the city: Sarajevo city tour & Olympic mountain Trebević

The day kicks off with a deep dive into Sarajevo’s soul, a city tour that blends history, culture, and the unique energy that makes this place unforgettable. We’re not just checking landmarks; we’re feeling the pulse of the streets, soaking in stories hidden in every corner, and getting a taste of that famous Sarajevo charm.

Then, we take it up a notch, literally. The Trebević Cable Car lifts us high above the city, giving you a bird’s eye view of Sarajevo’s perfect blend of old and new. As we glide up, you’ll see the red rooftops fade into green mountain slopes, and before you know it, we’re stepping onto Olympic ground.

Trebević Mountain, once the beating heart of the 1984 Winter Olympics, now a peaceful escape with epic views and a hint of nostalgia. We’ll check out the abandoned bobsled track, a piece of sports history turned into one of the most iconic photo spots in the region. Walk around, breathe in the fresh mountain air, and soak up the contrast of nature and history all in one place.

Just when you think the day can’t get better, we add a dose of adrenaline. Welcome to Sunnyland, the ultimate spot to let loose. Whether you’re here for the speed of the alpine coaster, a relaxed coffee with a million-dollar view, or just a good time, this place delivers.

After a day of city stories, mountain magic, and thrill rides, we wrap things up and head back to the hotel, where you can unwind, recharge, and get ready for whatever comes next. Sarajevo’s night is yours to enjoy.

Day 3 - Whispers of waterfall & ancient walls: Kravice waterfall & Počitelj fortress town (Sleepover in Mostar)

The journey south begins as we leave Sarajevo behind, heading straight into Herzegovina’s rugged beauty. This isn’t just a transfer - it’s a ride through some of Bosnia’s most breathtaking landscapes, where every stop adds another layer to the story.

First up - Jablaničko Lake, an emerald expanse cradled by mountains. We’re not just stopping for the view - we’re stepping onto a traditional wooden raft, gliding across the still waters as the world slows down around us. As we float, we’ll enjoy a cup of authentic Bosnian coffee, served on the raft, taking in the silence, the scenery, and the moment.

Afterward, we continue deeper into Herzegovina to Kravice Waterfalls, where crystal-clear waters cascade into a turquoise basin, offering a perfect escape from the summer heat. Whether you want to swim, enjoy the view, or simply relax by the water, this spot feels like pure magic.

Next, we step back in time in Počitelj, a well-preserved Ottoman-era fortress town carved into the hillside. With its ancient stone walls, cobbled streets, and the dominating medieval tower, Počitelj feels like a movie set frozen in time. Climbing to the top rewards you with panoramic views of the Neretva River Valley, where history and nature collide in the most dramatic way.

By late afternoon, we head to Mostar, where we check into our hotel. The evening is free for you to explore the charming Old Bazaar, with the Stari Most standing proudly above the Neretva River, or to enjoy a riverside dinner. Mostar comes alive in the evening, and this is the perfect way to experience it beyond just a day trip

Day 4 - History’s reflection in the water: Blagaj & Mostar (Sleepover in Mostar)

We start the day with a scenic drive to Blagaj, a tranquil village where nature and history blend seamlessly. Upon arrival, we’ll be greeted by the majestic Buna River, which emerges powerfully from a cave beneath the towering cliff. The sight of the Blagaj Tekke, a 600-year-old Dervish monastery, nestled beside the river, is nothing short of breathtaking. Here, the calming sound of the flowing river and the peaceful surroundings create a serene atmosphere perfect for reflection and relaxation. You’ll have time to explore the Tekke, walk along the river, and enjoy the refreshing mountain air.

After soaking in the serenity of Blagaj, we head to Fortica, the fortress high above Mostar, which offers some of the best views of the city and the surrounding landscape. Standing on the fort’s ramparts, you’ll be treated to breathtaking views over the Neretva River and Mostar’s red rooftops. It’s the perfect spot for stunning photographs and a moment of reflection on Mostar’s rich history.

We’ll continue our journey to Mostar’s Old Town, where we’ll step into the heart of the city’s charm and history. Our first stop will be Stari Most, the iconic Old Bridge that arches majestically over the Neretva River. This UNESCO World Heritage site is not only a symbol of resilience after its reconstruction, but it’s also a favorite spot for local divers who take the legendary plunge into the river. You’ll have the chance to witness this fearless tradition and even explore the Koski Mehmed-Pasha Mosque for a panoramic view of the bridge and the city.

After exploring the bridge, we’ll take some time to stroll through the Old Bazaar. The cobblestone streets, lined with stone houses and narrow alleyways, take you back in time, offering a glimpse of the city’s rich Ottoman heritage. You’ll find local crafts, souvenirs, and traditional Bosnian shops to explore.

After a full day of exploration, we check into our hotel in Mostar, where you can enjoy a leisurely evening just the way you please.

Day 5 - From stone streets to wild waters: Štrbački buk waterfall (Sleepover in Bihać)

Leaving Mostar’s sunlit alleys and iconic bridge behind, we embark on a journey north, trading Herzegovina’s warm Mediterranean air for the untamed wilderness of Krajina. But this isn’t just a transfer - this is a transition from stone to water, from history to nature, from bustling bazaars to the raw power of Bosnia’s most breathtaking waterfall.

The road takes us through changing landscapes, as the karst terrain of Herzegovina gives way to the rolling green hills of western Bosnia. And then, we arrive at Štrbački Buk, the crown jewel of Una National Park. With its thundering cascades, turquoise pools, and untouched surroundings, this 25-meter giant isn’t just a sight to see, it’s a force to feel. A short hike through the park leads us to prime viewing points, where we take a moment to absorb the energy of the Una River in its most powerful form.

After letting Una leave its mark, we continue towards Bihać, a city deeply connected to the river’s flow. Upon arrival, we check into our hotel, giving you time to relax and reset after the day’s journey.

As the evening sets in, Bihać reveals its quieter side - whether you prefer a riverside dinner, a peaceful walk along Una’s banks, or simply soaking in the crisp air of Bosnia’s wild north. Here, nature isn’t just a backdrop, it’s a way of life.

Tomorrow, we dive deeper into Bihać’s secrets - but for tonight, it’s time to let Una set the rhythm.

Day 6 - Hidden islands & fortress secrets: Japod islands, Ostrožac castle, Kostelski buk waterfall (Sleepover in Bihać)

Waking up in Bihać, we step into a day where nature, history, and pure tranquility come together in the heart of Krajina.

We start the morning at the Japodski Otoci, a hidden paradise where the Una River carves out a series of small, dreamy islands connected by wooden bridges. With untouched greenery, crystal-clear waters, and absolute serenity, this is the perfect place to slow down, walk the paths between the islands, or just sit by the water and let the rhythm of the river take over.

From nature’s sanctuary, we step into the past, heading towards Ostrožac Castle, one of the most majestic and mysterious fortresses in Bosnia. Standing high above the Una Valley, this medieval castle is a blend of Ottoman, Austro-Hungarian, and Gothic influences, making it feel like something straight out of a fantasy film. Walk through its ancient corridors, stand on the castle walls, and take in panoramic views that stretch for miles.

As the day winds down, we make our way to Kostelski Buk, where nature and tradition come together in one of the most picturesque settings in the region. This stunning waterfall complex, set against a historic old mill, is the perfect spot to relax with the sound of rushing water in the background. Whether you want to explore the area, enjoy a traditional meal by the river, or simply soak in the moment, this is a true hidden gem of Krajina.

With the day complete, we return to Bihać for one last overnight stay, letting the Una’s peaceful flow accompany us into the evening. Tomorrow, we hit the road again - but for now, the night belongs to Bihać.

Day 7 - From roar to silence: Jajce waterfall & Pliva Lake

Leaving Bihać behind, we begin our journey towards some of Bosnia’s most breathtaking and hidden landscapes, where rivers shape history, waterfalls take center stage, and tranquil lakes provide the perfect escape. This is a journey through Bosnia’s best-kept secrets, a seamless transition from the wild beauty of Una to the serene embrace of Plivsko Jezero.

Our adventure begins at Pliva Lake, a peaceful oasis surrounded by lush greenery, where the calm waters offer a perfect spot to relax and enjoy nature. As you walk along the shores, you’ll be drawn into the beauty of the landscape. Just a short distance away are the Pliva Mills (Mlinčići), a collection of centuries-old wooden watermills that stand proudly between two emerald lakes. These historic mills, once crucial to the community’s grain production, now serve as one of Bosnia’s most picturesque landmarks, offering an unforgettable glimpse into the country’s rich past.

Next, we make our way to Jajce, the royal city of Bosnia, where you’ll encounter one of the country’s most breathtaking natural wonders - the Jajce Waterfall. Unlike any other, this majestic waterfall cascades directly into the heart of the town, where the Pliva and Vrbas Rivers meet. The sight is absolutely stunning, and the sound of the water crashing into the basin below creates a sense of awe and wonder that is sure to leave a lasting impression.

As we continue our journey, we’ll head towards Sarajevo, bringing with us memories of Bosnia’s magnificent landscapes and the rich history that defines this region. With each stop, we uncover more of Bosnia’s timeless beauty and cultural heritage, creating a story that will stay with you long after you’ve left.

Day 8 - From underground battles to Olympic heights: Vrelo Bosne, Tunnel of Hope, Bjelašnica Olyimpic mountain

Our day begins in true serenity at Vrelo Bosne, one of Bosnia’s most iconic natural wonders. We start with a peaceful stroll through the park, crossing wooden bridges and taking in the emerald waters of the river’s spring. This is the heart of nature, where century-old trees create the perfect escape, and the air is fresh with the scent of pine and earth. Take your time to enjoy the natural beauty of the surroundings.

After soaking in the calm of Vrelo Bosne, we’ll return in style, taking a horse-drawn carriage ride back through the tree-lined avenue to the starting point. It’s a perfect way to unwind and reflect on the peacefulness of the spring before we continue our journey.

Next, we move to a place filled with history, the Tunnel of Hope, Sarajevo’s underground lifeline during the war. Walking through this historic passage, you’ll get a sense of the strength and resilience that allowed the city to stay connected with the outside world even during its darkest days. A powerful experience that ties the past to the present.

From here, we make our way into the mountains to Bjelašnica, a legendary Olympic mountain known for its breathtaking views and untouched beauty. We ride the gondola high up to the mountain’s peak, where the view stretches out before you like an endless sea of green valleys and majestic peaks. This is a perfect place to relax, breathe in the mountain air, and capture some stunning photos.

After taking in the panoramic views, we descend to Umoljani, a picturesque village nestled in the heart of the mountain. Here, you’ll be treated to a traditional Bosnian lunch in one of the most authentic settings you can imagine. Enjoy local specialties, from roast meats to homemade bread, all prepared with ingredients straight from the surrounding nature.

As the day comes to a close, we head back to our hotel for a relaxing evening in the peaceful surroundings. This is the perfect end to a day that blends nature, history, and authentic Bosnian experiences.

Day 9 - The sound of nature: Bijambare caves & Sarajevo ZOO

Today, we step off the beaten path and dive into Bosnia’s raw nature, where caves, forests, and wildlife tell stories older than the city itself.

First, we venture into Bijambare Nature Park, a pristine escape just outside Sarajevo, where dense pine forests, open meadows, and fresh mountain air create the perfect setting for an adventure. But the real magic lies beneath the surface, hidden deep underground in the Bijambare Caves. Walking through these ancient limestone chambers, you’ll feel the cool air, hear the echoes bounce off the walls, and witness the slow work of nature in jaw-dropping stalactites and stalagmites formed over thousands of years.

After emerging back into daylight, we continue our nature-filled day with a visit to Sarajevo’s Zoo & Pionirska Dolina, a lush green oasis where the wild meets the city. Whether it’s a relaxed walk, getting up close with diverse wildlife, or just enjoying the natural surroundings, this is the perfect way to round off the experience.

By the time we return, you’ll have seen a whole new side of Sarajevo - untouched, underground, and absolutely unforgettable.

After lunch, we take one final walk through Baščaršija, this time not as tourists, but as those who’ve truly experienced Sarajevo. The cobblestone streets, the scent of freshly ground coffee, and the glow of copper workshops remind us why this place is unlike any other. This is the last chance to pick up a handcrafted souvenir, a piece of art, or a unique gift to bring Sarajevo home with you.

With the day complete, we head back to the hotel to unwind before departure the following day.

Sitting above Sarajevo, with its rooftops stretching into the distance and mountains standing guard, we take in the view one last time. And, of course, we do it properly with a cup of strong, unfiltered Bosnian coffee in hand. No better way to end the journey than with a deep breath, a slow sip, and a moment to let Sarajevo sink in.
